Joseph Hicks

About the Author

“Every scar tells a story, and every story holds the power to heal.”

Joseph Hicks, MSN, APRN, PMNP–BC, is more than an author, he is a storyteller whose life embodies resilience, transformation, and faith. Growing up in the challenging streets of Cleveland, Ohio, Joseph faced hardship early on, including the tragic loss of his brother, experiences that shaped his outlook on life and his search for meaning. These formative years gave him a deep understanding of struggle, survival, and the need for hope.

Professionally, Joseph pursued a path in healthcare and today serves as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. In this role, he works closely with individuals navigating emotional and psychological challenges, giving him a unique perspective on the human condition. His ability to listen with empathy and discern the “voice of the soul” allows him to connect deeply with others, an approach that naturally flows into his writing.

His work blends personal experience with professional insight and spiritual reflection, creating stories that are not only compelling but also transformative. Through his writing, Joseph aims to help others recognize their own worth, confront their pain, and discover the possibility of healing and redemption.

For Joseph, storytelling is more than sharing memories; it is a way to inspire, encourage, and bring light to those who feel lost in darkness. His voice carries both authenticity and compassion, qualities that make his work resonate with readers on both an emotional and spiritual level.
